An insider has clarified when Marvel’s Wolverine from the makers of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released

The superhero action film Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 from Insomniac Games was released just a month ago, and fans are already preparing for the premiere of the developers’ next project – the action game Marvel’s Wolverine about Wolverine. According to insider Daniel Richtman, fans still have to be patient.

IN Publications Richtman revealed to his Patreon subscribers that Marvel’s Wolverine will be released in 2025. This is consistent with Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb’s February statements: he claimed that the game wouldn’t be released until fall 2024, but Insomniac was reportedly actively discussing a 2025 release.

According to Richtman, Marvel’s Wolverine will be darker and more violent than the Marvel’s Spider-Man games and will be set in the fictional island city-state of Madripoor in Southeast Asia. The metropolis often appeared in the stories of the mutants of the X-Men team.

According to Grubb’s February announcement, Marvel’s Wolverine will begin with a story about the time before Wolverine joined the X-Men. The game won’t have an open world – Insomniac’s Wolverine’s adventures will reportedly be mostly linear “wide sections” in spirit “Other big Sony games”.

Marvel’s Wolverine was unveiled at the PlayStation Showcase in September 2021 and has not received an official screening since. According to creative director Brian Horton, it will be “a full-length game with an adult tone”. The project is only announced for PS5.
