When rumors began to spread about the release of Xbox exclusives on third-party platforms, insiders were quick to classify the space role-playing game Starfield from Bethesda as a “defector”, but now they take back their words.
The XboxEra portal reported in early February that Starfield would be released on PS5 after the premiere of the Shattered Space add-on, citing its sources. Insider Nate the Hate (aka NateDrake) confirmed this information.
Over the past week, however, Nate the Hate received updated information, rechecked the old one about Starfield for PS5 and now claimsthat the space RPG will still remain an Xbox console exclusive.
“I am now convinced that [релиз] Starfield [на PS5] will not take place, and the information disseminated in this regard was pure fiction.”— stated Nate the Hate in a thread on the ResetEra forum.
By data Nate the Hate, contrary to popular belief, Microsoft is not going to completely switch to multi-platform releases – we are supposedly talking only about selected and not the most high-profile games.
Insider Tom Henderson addsthat Microsoft has supposedly made a decision so far only about porting Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves, while the fate of the remaining exclusives has not yet been decided.
Amid the rumors, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer said the company will hold a business event this week to talk about its “Xbox’s vision for the future”.
