An improved version of the failed XIII remake was shown in action

Publisher Microids and developers from French studio Tower Five have presented a gameplay trailer for an improved version of the remake of the failed cult shooter XIII in every respect.

The released video lasts just under three and a half minutes and shows a somewhat prettier rethink of XIII in backwards compatibility mode on the PlayStation 5.

Specifically, the video gives a glimpse of XIII’s updated visual style, wiser artificial intelligence, and “numerous technical improvements” like 60fps support on Sony’s latest console.

In addition to these improvements, the upcoming XIII update brings a redesigned user interface, sound fixes and online multiplayer with support for up to 13 people.

The rescue patch will be released on September 13th on PC, PS4 and Xbox One – the same day the remake will debut on the Nintendo Switch. After a disastrous debut in November 2020, Microids removed PlayMagic from the project and turned it over to Tower Five.
