AMD has decided to aggressively price new products. The older Radeon RX 7800 XT was $499 and the younger RX 7700 XT was $449, competing with models like the GeForce RTX 4070 ($599) and RTX 4060 Ti 16GB ($499) respectively. by NVIDIA. According to internal tests by AMD, both cards offer better performance than the competition while being cheaper. However, we will soon learn more about this from independent reviews.

The Radeon RX 7800 XT is based on the Navi 32 XT graphics chip with 60 execution units (3840 stream processors). The GPU uses a multi-chip architecture. The processor’s main processing unit (GCD) is manufactured in a 5nm process technology, additional MCD chiplets with L3 cache memory and memory controller are manufactured in a 6nm process technology. In total, the GPU contains 28.1 billion transistors, which is more than the previous generation Navi 21 GPU (26.8 billion transistors). The gaming frequency of the graphics processor of the Radeon RX 7800 XT model is specified as 2124 MHz, the boost frequency is 2430 MHz. However, versions of graphics cards from AMD partners with additional factory overclocking of the GPU are on sale.

The Radeon RX 7800 XT received 16 GB of GDDR6 memory with a speed of 19.5 Gbps per pin, support for a 256-bit bus and a maximum throughput of 624 GB/s and 2708 GB/s, respectively, considering of 64 MB infinity cache.
At the heart of the Radeon RX 7700 XT is the same GPU, but with fewer active cores. The chip has 54 execution units (3454 stream processors). This graphics card model received 12 GB of GDDR6 memory with support for a 192-bit memory bus, a speed of 18 Gbps per pin and a bandwidth of 432 GB/s (1995 GB/s with Infinity Cache).
As previously reported, the Radeon RX 7700 XT model will not appear in AMD’s reference design. The implementation of the card is entrusted to the company’s partners. The older RX 7800 XT is again available for sale in reference and custom versions.
