AMD Smart Access Memory technology allows the CPU to immediately use the entire array of available video memory, and not just access part of it with a volume of no more than 256 MB. With this approach, you can get a significant increase in performance in some modern games.

In Radeon Software Adrenalin 22.2.2, AMD Smart Access Memory technology is optimized for the following games:

  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Up to 24% performance increase when gaming at 1080p at Ultra settings on Ryzen 9 5900HX compared to the previous graphics driver version,
  • Battlefield 5 – Up to 23% performance increase when gaming at 1080p at Ultra settings on Ryzen 7 5800H compared to the previous graphics driver version,
  • Borderlands 3 – Up to 18% performance increase when gaming at 1080p and badass settings on Ryzen 9 5900HX compared to the previous graphics driver,
  • F1 2021 – Up to 17% performance increase when gaming at 1080p at Ultra settings on Ryzen 7 5800H compared to the previous graphics driver version,
  • Gears 5 – Up to 12% performance increase when gaming at 1080p and high settings on Ryzen 7 5800H compared to the previous graphics driver version,
  • Fortnite – Up to 11% performance increase when playing at 1080p at Ultra settings on Ryzen 7 5800H compared to the previous graphics driver,
  • Cyberpunk 2077 – Up to 10% performance increase when gaming at 1080p and ultra settings on the Ryzen 9 5900HX compared to the previous driver version.

At the same time, AMD announced a list of known issues that will be fixed in future versions of the Adrenalin driver:

  • Missing Aero effect (window transparency) in Windows 10,
  • Lighting issues in Cyberpunk 2077 (some areas appear too dark) when playing on computers with AMD graphics cards such as the Radeon RX 570,
  • Freezing and slow performance while playing God of War on computers with AMD graphics cards like Radeon RX 6900 XT etc.
  • A black screen appears when Enhanced Sync is enabled (users experiencing this issue should temporarily stop using this feature).
  • AMD Radeon Software tool shows incorrect VRAM frequency values.
