AMD releases graphics drivers with Starfield support

AMD has released the latest Radeon Software Adrenalin 23.8.2 WHQL graphics driver package for Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems. The new version of the software adds support for the space role-playing game Starfield.

The manufacturer notes that the new driver increases the performance of the Radeon RX 7900 by 16% under the same conditions in this game. RX 7900XT.

The company also announced that it has fixed a driver crash or timeout issue in Baldur’s Gate 3 with DirectX 11 on certain systems with Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards.

List of known issues with the new driver:

  • The frames per second item in the performance metrics overlay may not appear in certain games.
  • Audio and video are out of sync when recording with AMD software: Adrenalin Edition with AV1 codec;
  • Some FreeSync Premium Pro enabled Samsung displays may not achieve proper brightness in certain games when local dimming is enabled.
