AMD partners present X670E motherboards for Ryzen 7000 processors

AMD held a private “Meet the Experts” event in May, where they invited their partners to showcase their motherboards based on the new AMD X670E and AMD X670 chipsets designed for future Ryzen 7000 processors at Computex 2022 to show in May. However, there were a few new things. Representatives from ASUS, ASRock, MSI, Gigabyte and Biostar attended AMD Meet the Experts.

The ROG Crosshair X670E Hero uses a 20-phase power supply subsystem built on the 18 + 2 scheme. The novelty received two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots. It also announced the presence of five M.2 connectors for NVMe solid state drives. One of them supports the PCIe 5.0 standard.

The board also includes a pair of USB4 connectors with support for DisplayPort Alt Mode, two USB Type-C connectors (one with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ up to 60W), seven USB Type-A ports, a pair of LAN ports (10 Gb/s and 2.5 Gb/s) and six SATA III. The novelty is equipped with the audio codec ALC4082. In addition, the board received Q-Release and Q-Latch mechanisms for more convenient installation / removal of graphics accelerators and NVMe drives.

company ASRock told about X670E Taichi Carrara, X670E Taichi, X670E Steel Legend, X670E Pro RS Boards. The manufacturer presented all of these models at the Computex trade fair in May this year and described them in detail.

The new model is called ASRock X670E PG Lightning. Unfortunately, the company didn’t go into details of its decisions. She only generally noted that her new products support the PCIe 5.0 interface for M.2 SSDs, as well as graphics cards, work with DDR5 RAM, received USB Type-C connectors with fast charging, and the boards are based on a 8 -layered textolite .

company gigabytes spoke about four models of motherboards X670E Xtreme, Master, Aorus Pro AX and Aorus Elite MX. The flagship Xtreme model is equipped with a 22-phase VRM power subsystem built according to the 18 + 2 + 2 scheme. All other models received 20-phase VRM power subsystems with a 16+2+2 scheme.

For all new products shown, Gigabyte claims support for DDR5 memory, as well as the PCIe 5.0 interface for graphics cards and M.2 SSDs.

company MSI first showed the flagship motherboard MEG X670E Godlike. The novelty of the E-ATX format offers a very powerful 26-phase VRM power supply subsystem with a 24 + 2 circuit and phases designed for a current of 105A. The company confirmed that the board will be equipped with an M-Vision Dashboard LCD screen that can display various information about the system.

In addition, the manufacturer stated that the MEG Ace and Godlike boards will ship with an M.2 XPANDER-Z Gen5 expansion card. Two additional M.2 slots are added for PCIe 5.0 NVMe drives.

Besides the MEG X670E Godlike and MEG X670E Ace models, MSI also talked about the Pro X670-P WiFi, MPG X670E Carbon models. You can learn more about it in our previous publication. We only note that the Carbon model uses a 20-phase VRM power distribution system with an 18 + 2 circuit, the phases of which are rated for a current of 90 A.

Like the new MEG series, the carbon model also received special mechanisms for easy installation of M.2 SSDs.

company Biostar showed the flagship motherboard X670E Valkyrie. It is equipped with a 22-phase power subsystem and uses phases rated at 105A.

Support for the PCIe 5.0 interface for both M.2 SSDs and two of the three PCIe x16 slots has been announced for the new product.
