About two weeks ago AMD released FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.2, an open-source scaling technology that improves ghosting around moving objects.
Due to changes in the algorithms, the FSR 2.2 version offers less noise, artifacts, flicker and improves high dynamic range (HDR) image output. Thanks to FSR 2.2, the picture becomes clearer and there are fewer traces of dynamic objects. It also says that a new debugger API has been added to the FSR 2.2 package for easy migration from FSR 2.0 and FSR 2.1 to FSR 2.2. In general, this is an important evolutionary step in the development of technology before the transition to version 3.0.
According to AMD, FSR 2 scaling technology is already available in 110 games, and FSR 1 is supported in 250 games. The presence of a special plug-in for integrating FSR 2.2 into games based on Unreal Engine should certainly help speed up customization within the framework of various game projects.
