AMD has released a special driver with support for Alan Wake II

Last week AMD released a driver that supports three games: Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Lords of the Fallen and Forza Motorsport. Then the software did not support Alan Wake II, which will be released on October 27th. To mark the occasion, AMD released a special version of the Adrenalin Edition 23.20.17.05 driver, optimized for psychological horror from Remedy Entertainment.

Unfortunately, AMD’s official website doesn’t provide any details about what performance improvements the new software brings to Alan Wake II, but this driver is specifically intended for this game. The driver passed Microsoft’s test, but since it is not part of the Radeon driver range, AMD did not give it a WHQL label.

List of fixed issues:

  • Some textures may occasionally flicker when playing Alan Wake II.

List of known issues:

  • Performance Overlay may report “N/A” instead of frame rate in various games.
  • periodic desynchronization of audio and video when recording with AMD software: Adrenalin Edition with the AV1 codec;
  • When ray tracing is enabled, image distortion may occur in Forza Motorsport.
  • Periodic flickering of the image in the Total War: Pharaoh menu after changing the graphics settings.

You can download the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.20.17.05 driver for Alan Wake II from the official AMD website. Please note that the driver is only intended for desktop graphics cards from the Radeon RX 5000, Radeon RX 6000 and Radeon RX 7000 series and mobile graphics cards from the Radeon RX 5000M series and newer.
