AMD has updated the packaging of the Ryzen 7000 series processors, which can be seen as a somewhat unexpected move since they debuted just a few months ago. The new design has become more expressive.
The iconic AMD logo is now more visible on the Ryzen 7000 series processor boxes, with thicker and lighter lines. Apparently, all major stores, including the official AMD store, have already implemented the new box design. Below are images of old (left) and new (right) Ryzen processor packages:
In addition to the new packaging, users also noticed that, contrary to expectations, the reduced prices for new Ryzen processors continued after Black Friday. In stores, new items are now marked with “Holiday Discounts”, prices remain the same as on Black Friday.
For example, the flagship 16-core Ryzen 9 7950X is still priced at $550, even though the suggested price is $699. The rest of the family is also sold much cheaper than the recommended price:
- Ryzen 9 7900X – starting at $440 instead of the recommended $549;
- Ryzen 7 7700X – starting at $349 instead of the recommended $399;
- Ryzen 9 7900X – starting at $249 instead of the recommended $299.
