Amazon takes over the title of the world’s most valuable brand from Apple

Apple lost the title of the most valuable brand in the world in the Brand Finance Global 500 ranking. One of the world’s largest online retailers Amazon returned this title, despite losing $51 billion in value compared to last year’s ranking. However, according to Brand Finance data, Apple has depreciated even more.

The market value of the Apple brand fell 16% from $355.1 billion to $297.5 billion. Amazon, in turn, lost 15% in price. The brand value has fallen from $350.3 billion to $299.3 billion.

The rest of the top 5 has not changed compared to last year. Third place goes to Google ($281.4 billion), fourth to Microsoft ($191.6 billion) and fifth to Walmart ($113.8 billion). The value of the Samsung Group brand fell 7% to $99.7 billion, lost 56% in value and was valued at $10 billion. Facebook* 42% of costs lost. The brand is now valued at $59 billion and WeChat at $50.2 billion, a 19% drop in brand value.

At the same time, brand equity of Instagram* grew 42% to $47.4 billion according to Brand Finance estimates. And LinkedIn is up 44% to $15.5 billion. Tesla was also recognized as one of the fastest growing brands (9th place in the ranking, $66.2 billion or +44%). and BYD (#199, $10.1 billion or +57%).

Brand Finance’s press release also notes that the number of technology companies in the ranking has dropped from 50 to 48 as Twitter and Snapchat dropped from the list of most valuable brands.
