According to the portal GamesRadarA five-issue comic miniseries The Witcher: Corvo Bianco, created by Dark Horse in collaboration with CD Projekt RED, is nearing publication.

The idea to bring Geralt out of retirement came from Bartosz Sztybor, CD Projekt RED’s narrative director for animation and comics. He thought about retiring the witcher “An excellent premise for a western”.

“Imagine: Yennefer dueling another wizard and Geralt attacking a stagecoach. Corvo Bianco was his dream, but he will have to fight for it!” – explains Shtybor.

Shtybor’s commentary and the official plot of Dark Horse’s The Witcher: Corvo Bianco make it clear that Geralt remained with the sorceress Yennefer at the end of Blood and Wine, even though Triss (or Buttercup) could have taken her place in the game.

“With Yennefer at his side, Geralt hoped to enjoy the good life, but the imprint on history runs deep, for in blood and wine every drop attracts those thirsting for more.”reads the description of the comic.

The first of five issues of The Witcher: Corvo Bianco will be released on May 8th. The artist Corrado Mastantuono, a legend of Italian comics, is responsible for the illustrations for the miniseries.
