Addlink has announced the S90 Lite family of SSDs, suitable for use in desktop and laptop computers. The products are manufactured in the popular M.2 2280 form factor.
The modules are based on 176-layer 3D TLC NAND flash memory microchips (three bits of information in one cell). Uses PCIe 4.0 x4 interface (NVMe 1.4 specification); talks about backwards compatibility with PCIe 3.0.
Implemented SLC caching to improve performance. Active power consumption is reported as 3.9W, which is about 50% less than other PCIe 4.0 SSDs. This slightly increases the battery life of laptops.
The Addlink S90 Lite series includes three models – 512 GB and 1 and 2 TB. The sequential read speed of all devices reaches 5000 MB/s. The sequential write speed is 3900 MB/s for the younger version and 4500 MB/s for the other two.
The value of IOPS (input/output operations per second) is up to 400,000 for reading and up to 800,000 for writing. The manufacturer’s guarantee is five years. The novelties are said to be affordable solutions, but the price is not specified.
