ADATA introduces flagship LEGEND 960 PCIe Gen4 x4 SSD with 7400MB/s read speed

ADATA Technology has introduced the LEGEND 960 PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 2280 NVMe SSD, one of the manufacturer’s fastest SSDs. It offers sequential read speeds of up to 7400 MB/s. The sequential write speed of the novelty in this case reaches 6800 MB / s.

The LEGEND 960 PCIe Gen4 x4 model is based on Silicon Motion’s SM2264 controller. It supports PCI Express 4.0 interface and complies with NVMe 1.4 protocol specifications. The company doesn’t specify what type of flash memory the LEGEND 960 drives use, but does point to the use of SLC flash memory as a cache as well as a DRAM buffer.

LEGEND 960 drives are available in 1TB and 2TB versions. New product random read and write performance reaches 750,000 and 630,000 IOPS respectively. The company indicates the compatibility of new products with PlayStation 5 game consoles.

The drives also support error correction based on LDPC codes and 256-bit AES encryption.

A manufacturer’s guarantee of 5 years is declared for new products. The company says nothing about the cost of the LEGEND 960 drives.
