Acer unveils updated Chromebooks with touchscreens and Intel and MediaTek processors

Acer today announced four new Chrome OS laptops. New items are targeted at a wide range of users and are designed to meet the needs of both students and business users. Acer’s new Chromebooks boast Wi-Fi 6 support and good battery life.

Chromebook Spin 514 and Spin Enterprise 514 are equipped with 14-inch Full HD touchscreens covered with Gorilla Glass and covering 84% of the lid surface. The computers are based on the powerful 11th generation Intel Core i7 processors, but at the same time they run completely silent thanks to the passive cooling system. The Chromebook Spin 514 and Spin Enterprise 514 have a convertible design that lets you turn your laptop into a tablet with just a flick of your hand. The devices are protected according to the military standard MIL-STD 810H.

The new Acer Chromebook 515 and Chromebook Enterprise 515 feature 15.6-inch Full HD panels. The devices are based on 11th generation Intel Core i7 processors with Iris Xe graphics, have up to 16 GB of RAM and an SSD with a capacity of up to 512 GB. As is the case with the younger models, the screens of the 15-inch Chromebooks offer support for touch input.

The Acer Chromebook 514 is based on the Arm-chipset MediaTek Kompanio 828, providing sufficient performance for most everyday tasks. The device can work up to 15 hours on a single charge. The computer is able to charge to half in just 30 minutes. The Chromebook 514 weighs just 1.3kg and is 16.85mm thin.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 314 boasts a chassis made entirely from recycled plastic waste. The latest Intel chips are used as the hardware platform. The screen is represented by a 14-inch IPS-matrix with Full HD resolution and support for touch input. Like all the other new products, the Chromebook Spin 314 is equipped with USB-C ports and supports Wi-Fi 6.

New items will hit the market later this fall. The Chromebook Spin 514 will hit the market starting at $ 699. The most affordable version of the Chromebook 514 will cost $ 399. The Chromebook 515 will start at $ 499. The most affordable modification of the Acer Chromebook Spin 314 will cost the same amount.
