Acer launches ebii electric bike with AI and automatic gear shifting

Acer plans to add an electric bike, interestingly named ebii, to its portfolio of computers, monitors and other electronics. The developer claims that the model was created for city dwellers and is able to apply elements of artificial intelligence, taking into account the user’s personal preferences and automatically changing gears depending on the road conditions.

The new product weighs around 15 kg – significantly lighter than most e-bikes. Acer claims that the model can reach speeds of more than 32 km/h and cover more than 110 km without charging the batteries.

It takes about 2.5 hours to fully charge the batteries. It is noteworthy that a bicycle traction battery can be used to charge almost any electronics, from smartphones to laptops.

You need to install the ebiiGO app to get information about battery level, recommended routes, speed readings and model lock/unlock. In any case, however, the bike will be automatically locked if the owner’s smartphone moves a predetermined distance away. There is also a special anti-theft alarm system.

In addition, ebii is equipped with collision sensors, provides lighting in every direction and has airless tires that are not afraid of punctures. The company has not yet specified how much the e-bike will cost and when the premiere will take place. It’s difficult to even guess at the price. For example, in the US bike market, a low-cost Lectric XP Lite can cost $800, while a new Audi electric mountain bike can cost over $10,000.
