According to Intel, the mobile graphics cards Arc A730M and Arc 770M are faster than the mobile GeForce RTX 3050 Ti and RTX 3060

Intel has released official gaming performance data for its Arc 770M and Arc A730M mobile graphics accelerators. Shared information portal Tom’s Hardware. Both graphics cards are available in a range of laptops that are currently only sold in China. Notebooks with these accelerators are expected to hit the international market by the end of the summer.

Both mobile graphics cards from the Arc A7 series are based on the Alchemist ACM-G10 graphics chip. Their performance data comes from an official Intel press release distributed to Chinese tech bloggers.

Perhaps the most important information in the document is the positioning of the Arc 770M model as a competitor to the mobile GeForce RTX 3060. Intel, for its part, opposes the Arc A730M model to the mobile GeForce RTX 3050 Ti. There is no question of comparing the older card with the more productive GeForce RTX 3070 and especially the GeForce RTX 3080. Despite previous rumours, Intel doesn’t seem to want to compete with the flagships in the mobile segment just yet.

The press release also specifies the configurations of laptops in which the graphics cards were tested. Unfortunately, Intel left out some important details, like the power consumption of its accelerators. Remember that the TDP of Intel graphics cards is dynamic. Manufacturers can set the maximum power consumption within the specified range for a given laptop. It is also known that the Intel tests used the GeForce RTX 3050 Ti and RTX 3060 in versions without maximum TDP. The system configurations looked like this:

  • Unknown laptop with Intel Arc A730M (TDP 80 to 120W), Core i7-12700H and 16GB DDR5-4800 RAM;
  • Unknown laptop with Intel Arc A770M (TDP 120 to 150W), Core i9-12900HK and 16GB DDR5-4800 RAM;
  • ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 with GeForce RTX 3050 Ti (TDP 60W), Core i7-11800H and 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM;
  • MSI Pulse GL66 with GeForce RTX 3060 (TDP 85W), Core i9-12900HK, DDR5-4800 RAM unknown.

According to Intel, the Arc A730M graphics card is an average of 13% faster than the GeForce RTX 3050 Ti, while the older Arc A770M graphics card is an average of 12% faster than the GeForce RTX 3060 in games.

The conclusion is based on tests of 17 games launched with high or maximum graphics quality settings and a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. In some games, Intel’s new products were inferior to NVIDIA’s competitors, but in many they showed tangible superiority.
