The Devil in Me is the finale of the first season of The Dark Pictures Anthology, which began in 2019 with Man of Medan. According to the plot, a group of documentary filmmakers receive an invitation to a replica of the Murder Castle, the spooky abode of America’s first serial maniac.

At the time of publication of this material, the horror rating on the aggregator frankly critical is 74 points out of 100 (35 ratings). Critics praised the solid plot, well-written character stories, unique puzzles, and location design. The advent of new features and small mechanics (inventory, jumping, balancing, and crawling) was also well received.

The technical performance of the game was the main reason for the negative criticism from the journalists. Almost all reviewers cited performance issues and the lack of convincing facial animations of the characters.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me is available for PC (steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S.
