Chinese studio miHoYo, best known for shareware role-playing game Genshin Impact, unveiled its next project after the countdown ended – an urban fantasy anime action film Zenless Zone Zero.
The events of Zenless Zone Zero will unfold during the post-apocalypse. Civilization was almost destroyed by a supernatural cataclysm, causing distorted dimensions (voids) to appear in the world inhabited by monsters (ethereal).
Players take on the role of so-called proxy leaders in the Hollows who have managed to monetize and industrialize the stewardship of the last remaining human city, New Eridu.
Zenless Zone Zero users must help Hollows visitors defeat enemies and complete their goals. Along with a squad of colorful characters, players will also be able to unravel the mysteries of New Eridu.
The creators of Zenless Zone Zero promise an immersive story, a fluid and cinematic combat system, “futuristic visual style” and developed characters.
In addition, Zenless Zone Zero offers the possibility to control different heroes during fights with Ethereal to use charged abilities and perform QTE combos. The game will also contain roguelike elements.
At this stage, Zenless is Zone Zero Approved for PCs and smartphones, while other target platforms will be announced later. Registration for the closed beta test is available on the official website.
