It has been revealed that in the next few weeks Horizon Worlds will have a “Voice Mode” option that will distort the voices of strangers (people who are not on the friends list) and turn their speech into unintelligible but friendly gibberish.

Users who have this option enabled are marked with a special indicator. If you want to temporarily restore a normal voice to a stranger without adding them to your friends list, you can bring the controller to your ear.

According to the intention of the developers, the “Voice Mode” should help users of Horizon Worlds “feel more comfortable or safer”. Previously were introduced for the same purpose “personal limits”.

In terms of platform geography, UK residents can now dive into Horizon Worlds in addition to the United States and Canada. This requires a Quest headset for now, but the developers have plans for mobile and browser versions.
