Ten years have passed since the release of Dota 2 on July 9th, but for Valve time flies in its own way, according to the developers of the official celebration of the anniversary of their popular MOBA arranged only now.
From August 18th to September 7th, users who win games (one in normal mode and two in turbo mode) will receive a memory treasure containing one of the associated special items “With eventful years of play”.
There are 13 awards in total, dating back to 2011 when Dota 2 went “Beta” and ranging from courier skins to a full skin set, personality sets, immortal weapons and more (see gallery below).
In order not to miss any reward, users only need to win games. Players have a little under three weeks to collect the full collection of Anniversary Trophies – in that time, they must achieve 13 victories.
“We are extremely fortunate to have the support of such a community and we are delighted to have shared this journey with you. So let’s play together in the coming weeks and celebrate 10 years of Dota!” Call Valve.
The reaction of the fans was mixed: Some were excited about the opportunity to get lost cosmetic items, while others expected more from the celebration. However, both sides agree that this is better than nothing.
