Recall that the Dead Space rethink was officially unveiled as part of the EA Play Live 2021 online presentation in July 2021 and is expected to release in early 2023.

It has been announced that Dead Space Remake will be available on January 27, 2023 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The game is already playable from start to finish, and a full gameplay demonstration is expected in October (“closer to halloween”).

As for the stream itself, the developers (see playlists above) talked about how they’re recreating the art, character models, lighting, and visuals for current-gen platforms.

Towards the end of the show (see video below), the writers staged a small demonstration of the remake’s “pre-alpha”. In the leaked clip, the protagonist starts the engine in the engineering department of the Ishimura spacecraft.

According to the Dead Space storyline, the Ishimura’s entire crew was killed and infected with alien filth. Engineer Isaac Clark, who has arrived on the ship, must find out what happened and fight back enemy creatures.

Dead Space Remake is built from the ground up using the Frostbite engine. The developers promise “Demonstrate a unique level of visualization and enhance gameplay while retaining the spirit of the original.”.
